That semaphore was later relocated this side of the level crossing but installed as a modern all steel unit. VOG Vale of Glamorgan Up worked distant signal for former Llantwit Major signal box taken when the line only saw freight traffic after 1964. The batteries powering the lamp and arm repeater contacts were housed in the box clamped to the signal post. Note the superelevated track which has no shine on the rail heads due to there being very little traffic on this section at the time. The line was reopened to passenger traffic in 2004 West of Llantwit Major and east of road underbridge carrying a lane off the B4265 Wick road. 10 31 NW 23-Oct-66 14.20
