Ogmore Vale Extension (left)   Newlands Loop (right) Newlands junction showing MAS signal PT408 & motored points. The single line from the up relief lines at Newlands Loop Jct, alongside the South Wales Main lines and running up the incline to this junction (Newlands Jct) had been completely removed by May 2006. The left-hand miniature colour light signal was accordingly removed and the straight ahead line became the up & down single OVE line. The down loop lines had also just been taken out-of-use prior to this photograph. The bracket semaphore assembly in the distance was lifted and re-installed at Tondu North for the re-introduction of passenger trains in 1992.
