The Trent Valley Light Railway

Planned by the Manchester & Birmingham Railway in 1845 to antagonise the Grand Junction Railway then absorbed by the London & Birmingham Railway jointly with the Grand Junction Railway and the Manchester & Birmingham Railway in 1846, followed immediately by the amalgamation of all three to form the London & North Western Railway.
