The Lanarkshire & Dumbartonshire Railway

The Lanarkshire & Dumbartonshire along with the Glasgow Central Railway both worked by the Caledonian rivalled and paralleled the Glasgow City & District Underground line (opened in 1886), which was a steam worked adjunct to the North British Railway.
